As of this week, it has been one year since the biggest city in Silicon Valley raised its minimum wage from $8 an hour to $10, becoming part of the vanguard for similar statewide and national campaigns…

… Mountain View advocacy group Politically Inspired Action, cited that city’s nearly $3,000 average monthly rent and high proportion of local students eligible for reduced-cost lunches as an illustration of economic inequality that a higher minimum wage could potentially help alleviate. “We need a minimum wage befitting the economic realities of Silicon Valley.”…
